There's a horse in my bathroom.

A whole farm in the office:
An airplane in the family room:
A basketball court in the dining room:
A baseball diamond in the living room:
Apparently an earthquake hit the playroom. (Strangely enough, I didn't feel a thing. Huh.):
A lawn mower in the bedroom:
And a mouse in the closet! Yikes! (At least he's cute! Huge, but cute.):
Our closets are clean, but the house is not. Tornado Bub hits every room and I wouldn't have it any other way. (Love.)

But I am starting to twitch. Just a little.

I'm not sure how I came across your blog, but I've been enjoying your posts. Todays just crack me up! Glad to know I'm not the only one with a little tazmanian destroying the house!

Looks a lot like my house! Only here it's hotwheels. Everywhere.

I remember those days. My youngest turns 8 tomorrow. Time flies. *wistful sigh*

Enjoy every single moment, even the ones when you think you can't pick up one. more. toy. They grow up so fast and will be asking for car keys soon. :-)

Cute post! Sounds just like my house! There are trains, monster trucks, and match box cars EVERYWHERE!

I feel your pain. I think I need to be medicated for my twitchiness. ;) So glad I'm not the only one!!!

Sometimes I remind myself that there will come a time when I will miss seeing all these toys everywhere!

I thought I was in my own home for a minute there. We have toys in EVERY.SINGLE.ROOM. too. But they're only little once.

Too funny! I remember those hot wheels... they really hurt if you step on one in your bare feet!

Beth said...

I think we had that same earthquake in our playroom today and it shook just the toys and scattered them all throughout the house. Very curious indeed. Love your blog by the way!

AHHHHH, HUGE sigh of relief! FINALLY a post of a house that looks suspiciously like mine.....! I love your blog!!!!

That is so funny! I understand! (Except I have all girls, so the "stuff" is a little different!)

My house looks very similar to yours today. Except that instead of a horse in the bathroom, we have a 5 foot alligator in the hallway!

Wow, how did my Oregon tornado touch down over there?!? I have one of those tornado makers here too and your post was too cute and funny to not comment. :)

I just started reading your blog, and I have to tell you that I LOVE it, all of your ideas and craftiness, I get on line everyday just to see if you have anything new. Thank you for sharing all of your ideas. I love it, and can't wait to start working on my house. Infact, I went through some of your older posts and showed my husband your laundry room. LOVE IT! Thanks again for sharing.

Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep.
Cherish these days because it will turn into stinky socks, sports gear, used gum and comic books... much worse than Thomas Tracks.

First off, ain't that lawnmore loud? We have no carpet, and whew it makes a ruckus. Second- my house is definitely looking much the same.

Ugh. I hate it when a horse gets into your bathroom. There's just no boundaries with those things! :) Cute post!

Thanks for sharing your son's decorating aesthetic with us. Mine share a similar view.

I suspected we led parallel lives, but now I am convinced.

My three year old son can cause more clutter damage in thirty minutes than any pack of wild hogs released in my home. (I don't know where that reference came from...)

Anyhoo, don't feel so bad. Someone once said a messy house is a reminder that you are living with loved ones, and not alone. I love that.

But I am prone to twitch too.

LOL! When I read the title, I immediately thought, well, it's better than 'there's a snake in my boot' a la Toy Story 2.
Thomas has been invading my house for at least 4 years now. One day I'll miss them. One day.

Ha, looks like my place! Wait until you get another little one. :)

I always thought of my house as looking as though a storm had passed through (occasionally even referring to the mess as the wake of "Hurricane Preston." Now my boys are big, but they're still messy. Messy or not, though, we wouldn't trade them for all the money in the world, would we?

Aaaah...the memories!

It is a never ending job. BUT it might just be the best job EVER! (I see you have train tracks scattered in your house too...I have been secretly plotting how to make them vanish)

Kimm at Reinvented said...

I KNOW that twitch! I'd like to reassure you that they make less mess when they're older, but I'd be LYING. :)

We have two hurricanes living with us. Of course they are older now, but still as destructive. LOL

Hi! Unrelated to kids' toys everywhere, I just wanted to tell you how your blog has inspired me tremendously to start doing some remodeling in our home. And I started a blog! I actually link people back to you site because I think you have awesome and great ideas! Thank you thank you!

I just found your lovely blog and felt nostagically at home with the toys all over photos. I miss those days. Today is my youngest's 16th birthday. He used to have toys everywhere every day from all his busy-ness. Now it's just XBox wires and dirty laundry - sigh. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful projects, etc.

How cute! I just did a post like this yesterday. I'm trying to embrace the mess because I know when I'm older and the house is all quiet, I'll be wishing for the chaos back again.

Ha! I love this post. My little sister...who does not have children yet keeps telling me she "will not have a little basket of toys in every room of her house". We do. Cute lined baskets full of toys, in about every room including the master closet.

And one day...she will have them too.

I know exactly how you feel!
