Woweeee people, this one is almost as easy at the placemat pillows. It requires a teeny bit more sewing though. Hemming tape if you choose. Or glue. Maybe safety pins. Scotch tape? Whatever floats your boat. I found this runner for $13 at HomeGoods a couple weeks ago:
Speaking of table linen pillows, my friend Amy at The Red Chair Blog posted the same project on the same day:

Freaky deaky. Hers is an outdoor pillow and I lurve it! Check it out here.
I am freaking out excited people -- I was recognized by a reader for the first time today!!!! We were out to dinner at a local (YUM-O!) pizza place and she stopped me. I was so giddy!! You must check out Kara's site -- she does amazing work refinishing furniture. Just gorgeous. She mostly sells to Indiana dwellers, but it sounds like she'll try to work it out if you really love something. And you will. Go check her out at Lila's Pockets. Hi Kara!!!!! (Waving wildly.)
Have a great weekend! I could just die I'm so happy with how our deck is turning out. I can't wait to show you next week.

OMG how freakin' hilarious is that! We were just talking about running into someone...did it happen like we talked about...I die!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty Sarah! I luuurve it!
ReplyDeleteI have a very similiar runner in sage green I bought at Marshalls. It's shown on my post from today. It's on my foyer table. Stop by and see it if you have a moment.
I saw the pillows on Amy blog as well and thought of you too! :)
LOVE the pillow! And that is so exciting you got recognized, off to check out Kara's blog now =)
ReplyDeleteLove the pillows! In fact I have two brown pillows (square) that are almost the exactly the same as your brown rectangular one! Thanks for sharing, your decor and home is inspiring!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pillow. I love fabrics and the table runner is such beautiful fabric. Made the most wonderful pillow. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThe pillow looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. Maybe one day I will get that crafty, that talented.
This is nuts, I was at the GoodWill today looking for a nice runner to do just that to. Love yours.
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog from Glitter and Bliss! And I love it here! You are a true blue inspiration!! I am in more trouble with "being on the computer" now that I have this new find to catch up on!
ReplyDeleteYou have Fab ideas!
You totally ROCK!
CC
you are so hilarious it hurts. every post. i am from tennessee so i appreciate the hick talk..that is what I hear 99 percent of the time! lol I love or as you say "lurve" the pillow idea. you are the greatest!
ReplyDeleteThe pillows are amazing but isn't it fun to run into people who read our blog? This has just started happening to me and there's an instant connection since they know your stuff better than some of your friends that don't read your blog. Fun for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pillows look great - just one of them (even at Home Goods) would be more than what you paid for the table runner. Did you use the tassels or is that another post? :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your deck!
Very pretty! You're so crafty! ;)

You're killin' me here. I was @ TJ Maxx yesterday, scouring placemats & table runners. Mom said, what r u looking 4? I said, pillows! Alas, only found a $3, yes $3! rooster plate for my dining rm wall. So excited, or as you say, SCORE! guess I need to post pics of all my roosters - or as my grandson says "do-doo's" (short for cock-a-doodle-doo)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link! I added a link on my placemat pillow post back to your placemat pillow post and your table runner post (hope that's OK), so now readers will be trapped in an endless cycle of table linen pillow madness! Did I just say "trapped"? Um, I meant "blissfully ensnared". :)
Amy
Love it! It matches my bedding perfectly. So send it to Texas. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've made pillows out of everything...even wool sweaters!
Fun, I love the fabric...so chic!
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah ~ I've got an award for you over at my new blog post! : )
ReplyDeleteYou are totally like a celebrity now! :) I would have asked for your autograph.
ReplyDeleteLove the table runner pillow! Any special stuffing you use, or just the stuff you can get at JoAnn's or Hancock? I think I could do a pillow like that b/c it wouldn't really involve measuring to exact specifications, like if you were using a pillow form or something...
Thanks, Sarah! It was great meeting you and I really appreciate the link! Your button will be up on my blog soon!
ReplyDeleteKara
So cute! Love it.
ReplyDelete(So did you sign autographs?)
:)
I love that you put this to great and attractive use. Good for the couch and the planet!
ReplyDeleteAnother great pillow idea - love it :)
ReplyDeleteI think I might need to try this idea for pillows. I can never find any pillows I like that aren't really expensive. And how cool that you were recognized. You're FAMOUS! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah every one recognize you your pillows are great!
ReplyDeleteLove this! When I was young and broke, I made a couple of lumbar pillows using fancy placemats (with leftover fabric from the room decor on the backs). I was so impressed with myself! And I'd totally do it again in a heartbeat even tho I'm not so broke anymore!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to add a decorative throw pillow at half the cost.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pillows are available at Spacify. You must have a look...They are stylish and durable.
ReplyDeleteI made a hanging headboard out of three heavy table runners and sewed a contrasting edging. It looks in my bedroom.
