Giveaway weekend!

Now closed, thank you!

This is such a cool giveaway, and like all my others, I’m so excited about it! (For you!)

I really wish I had a way to show you all what I’m talking about when I make suggestions on your consultations –- but I got nuthin’. I mean, I can send you links of items all I want, but it just doesn’t show you what’s in my head. (As some of you know, I usually have a lot going on in there and I wish I could show you what the heck I’m talking about!) I have plans of looking into software to do this, but for now, all I can do is explain the ideas the best I can and show you examples that I’ve done.

Well, this giveaway offers you a chance to really see what your final room would look like after a consultation. The My Design Guide designers offer online consultations with beautiful computer images using all of their suggestions. That means you can see how it will all look in your room. How cool is that?

There are a few things I love about consultations from My Design Guide. First one is the whole being able to see your room thing. :) Second, I love how they take into account items and furniture you already have and want to work with. There’s no “buy all new” mantra – because honestly, how often is that realistic?:

bedroom

The consults are so thorough, there’s not much left you’ll be wondering about. Even the wall colors and wallpaper suggestions are included, complete with names and paint codes!

1122paint01 1136paint01

My favorite part of these consultations is that the suggestions they make for all bedding, furniture, art and accessories are all laid out for you – and the items can be found online or in stores that are easily accessible for just about anyone.

Accessories from Z Gallerie, Target and Crate and Barrel:

1122acc061122acc41121acc09

Furniture, art and pillows from Overstock.com, Ballard Designs and Pottery Barn:

1122acc011121acc0190000007acc02

Even if you can’t afford a specific item they suggest, you can use the image as inspiration for your space!

And, the best part? At the end of the consult you will get a shopping list with every suggested item on it, complete with prices and the links to the sites where you can find them:

1. Crate and Barrel - Flamenco Centerpiece Bowl $43.00
2. Behr - Behr Spring Hill 420E-3
3. All Coffee Tables - Liverpool Coffee Table Set $408.00
4. Art.com - Celebration Art Print 40" x 28" $50.00
5. Pillows and Throws - Natural Sheer Linen Panel $42.00 - $52.00

OK, that’s awesome. It’s all rolled up into one perfect package!

Here’s an example of the virtual image they can create from your space – the before picture and the after image:

90000004before01

90000004image1Check out the main page for the fantastic after photo! (You know how much I love after pics!)

Here’s a consultation that I just adore! (Using those awesome Overstock.com chairs above!) I want this room in my house:

1122image1

1122image2

Or a girl’s room design, complete with the suggested bedding on the bed. (Love that!):

child's_bedroom_view_3

The folks at My Design Guide also offer a huge variety of design services for all of your needs – big or small:

  • Paint color ideas
  • Flooring suggestions
  • Staging your spaces when selling
  • Consults just for art and accessories (which I think are the hardest part of a room!)
  • Thirty minute design dilemma consultations (for that problem spot)

They’ve got it all covered! And your satisfaction is guaranteed -- if you're not satisfied, they will give you a full refund of the service price. (How often does that happen anymore?)

So get this -- My Design Guide is offering one of you a FREE full service consultation for the room of your choice! This is a $249 value peeps!! The winner will receive the 3D design including suggestions for furnishings, carpet, window treatments, lighting, art and accessories - everything! You will also get the shopping list of all the products selected (from affordable stores).

Whoohew! That’s awesome! I’m super stoked for whoever wins this one!

To enter, leave a comment here and let me know what space or room in your house you will pick if you win! For another chance, visit the My Design Guide gallery and check out more examples of their work. You can click on the scrolling pictures for a better view, or click the links below the photos to see how the consults are laid out. Come back here and leave a second comment with your favorite virtual consultation image or after photo in the gallery.

That’s it! If you a leaving an anonymous comment, be sure to include an email address so I can contact you if you win. The giveaway will be open till this Monday, the 25th, at noon.

Have fun and have a great weekend!

This is a cool idea. If I were to win, I'd love a consult on my newly-opened up front room living spaces. We recently took down two walls in our foyer to make the entry way into one open-concept floorplan. Now I've got to figure out how to define the spaces with decor!

Amy @ Renovation Innovation said...

On the My Design Guide Gallery website, I really like the condo dining room digital makeover. Uber cool.

If I were to win I would enter my master bedroom. It's in desperate need. :( It's a large space, which is great, except that we have NO IDEA what to do with it!

I really love the classic living room with the two chairs around the fireplace! Beautiful!

I want to make over our basement! It's hideous! I want a functional space where not only can my daughter play, but a space for the grown ups as well!

Neat service! I would DEFINITELY choose my kitchen....YIKES!! This is one of only two rooms left in our house that I haven't redone...so it's certainly time!

ok, I love the living room ideas (with the fireplace especially, since that is a problem area here!)...but my 7 year old saw the girl's room and ADORES it! There's something for everyone!

Candice or Keith said...

Very cool idea. My family room is awkwardly small and in desperate need of storage ideas. Lighting and seating are also top concerns.

I love your site and would love to win this giveaway! I would totally ask for a consult on my den which is connected to the kitchen. This has always been a big challenge for me since we got the house from my grandmother-in-law, as she put some pretty specific rules on how she wanted the room to stay (paneling, YUCK!). I would LOVE some professional insight to help with this space!

I would pick our family room. It's a big space but it has these two poles in the middle of it. They break up the room into almost two "mini rooms". I havent' the slightest idea how to design around them or arrange furniture around them!

Kim said...

It is a complete toss-up between my kitchen/art studio (one big room) or my living room. Probably the kitchen/art studio since we have metal (yes metal) kitchen cabinets from the 50's in there.

Jamie @ Six Bricks High said...

On their site I really like the 'terrific traditional' living room.

Anonymous said...

Ooh how wonderful. If I were to win I would choose either the dining room or the formal living room. Technically they open into one another so the really are kind of "one space." Ooh, or maybe the upstairs bonus room. Hmmm, tough choice! :) I'll be crossing my fingers...hehe! Thanks for all the great ideas and inspiration!

Genevieve said...

YEA! Super excited about this as my husband and I are just finishing up the purchase of our FIRST HOME! A first home that looks like the Brady's just moved out, that is. Seriously - Halloween orange counter tops and wall paper in E-V-E-R-Y room. I think I can handle the orange counter topped kitchen, but the family room - huge dilemma. Do I face the front door, the breakfast bar, the front yard window? And what about that window, it seems so small...HELP! I have no clue how to organize this space and truly, it will be the heart of our home as it it connected to the orange-counter-topped kitchen (I'll get rid of those, I swear).

Oh I sooo need this. I would choose this for my living room. We moved into our first home a few months ago and I still can figure out how to do this room. I have too many ideas and not sure how to pull it together so it sits, plain, no paint, empty and bare. I hope I win! :-)

Genevieve said...

On the website, I really like the 'modern family room' - maybe because I want family room help. :) Really, they did a nice job of balancing the competing interests: fireplace and (we all use them) TV. Hard to do and yet they pulled it off with class, this is what I am hoping for.

meganOD said...

Wow, what a great idea! I'd probably choose my bedroom or the living room, both in need of a change!

Ch4ttyC4thy said...

I would choose my bedroom. I pay so much attention to the way the rest of my house looks that by the time I think about my bedroom I would much rather just iron or sleep in it. It's about time mommy and daddy have their own private sanctuary!!

Wow... this is so neat. If I were to win, I would ask for (much needed) help with my Master bedroom. Most of the BIG pieces are there... but I have only put up one mirror over and some floating bookshelves on another wall... that leaves LOTS of space for other stuff and I just can't seem to come up with a plan. I have several brackets and some framed photos and probably stuff I have forgotten just laying around on the floor in corners!

My friend and I are working on a bedroom remodel. Her oldest daughter is in college now and she wants to turn the room into a guest room/reading room. We are really excited about the redo, but we could use some help since the room is so small. Thank you so much for this opportunity!!

Ok, I'll try because this sounds so cool. I have this one room that I've never known what to do with and it's the first room you see when you come in the door. Ugh.

Hope I win, cuz I never win these things.
