WHOO to the HOO. I am so excited! I’ve been keeping you in the dark about this fun little news – sorry about that. :) I just didn’t want to say anything till I had an air date, knowing the little I know about TV production…and even now with an air date scheduled, I know it could still end up on the cutting room floor.
But…WHOOHOO!
I’m optimistic and excited so I’m spilling! :)
It started a few weeks ago when I got an email late one night that started:
“Hey Sarah,
My name is Michelle and I’m a producer on The Nate Berkus Show…”
UM. Hello Michelle!
I woke up hubby from a deep sleep for that one. :)
Anyway, we talked over email and the phone off and on about me coming out, and then I got word early this week that the segment they were thinking about me coming out for was cut.
But they wanted to use my site in a segment called Nate’s Finds – at first I thought it would be just a quick mention, but I think it’s going to be a few minutes worth. (I think. I really have no idea…I haven’t seen what they taped.) So I spent most of the day Tuesday emailing pictures, links, info, and more pictures to one of the producers.
I hear Nate himself was digging one of my project in particular, and did one of his own – can’t wait to see it!
I got word today that the Thrifty Decor Chick segment will be on an episode that airs Tuesday, November 16th.
I have to admit – I was kind of relieved they didn’t need me to come out right now. I’m a planner and the thought of getting the call and flying out the next day was giving me hives. :) At least this time of year -- with the holidays, hubby’s job (three words = marching band season), needing a hair cut, child care, wanting to lose ten pounds. You know.
And now I get to watch and not worry that I look like a total dweeb. It will just be cutie Nate. Showing pictures of my stuff. I can handle that!
Maybe some day I’ll get to go out there and hug swoon over meet Nate in person. ;)
Until then, I can’t wait to see my little “there in spirit” segment! Hope you can catch it!

I got the email today. Seems they are making their way through the blogger network! I love them for that.
Who knows what will come of this for me...my job isn't as flexible as most, so I might not follow through. It's pretty exciting, though!

That's awesome! You should keep reminding us because today the guide on the DVR only goes to midnight on Saturday the 13th. Otherwise, on the 16th I will spend the day thinking, "now what was I supposed to remember today?" and I will probably just think of my sister's birthday, which is also that day.

Yay for you! I have a goal to one day get on the Nate show...it may not happen, but I can dream. But you get to just get recognized and not have to be there! Marching band season... Oh honey tell me about it! No BOA for us but we did make it to State Finals in Class D. Our middle son plays the marimba and we are part of the pit crew... (Would it be possible to ask which band your hubby works with? Yeah you can tell we are band parents...)

Congratulations! How exciting that your hard work is getting recognized!!! I have to tell you, I've been on tv before (a random documentary for the National Geographic Channel) and let me tell you, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I still have no idea what to say when people say, "Hey!! I saw you on tv last night!!" I'm just like, "Oh, great! Umm...good for you..." And no one really knows what to say to me after that, either!! (total crickets chirping) I guess it would be different for you b/c yours would be something having to do with what you've accomplished, but chances are you'd see yourself on tv and still think you look like a dweeb! Mine aired a couple of years ago and I watched the first airing but I haven't watched it since then. I have it on dvd and I have friends that want to see it b/c they don't have cable but the thought of watching it again just seems narcissistic and weird.
Anyway, congratulations!!! I hope your work gets lots of airtime!!!!! You deserve it!! :-)

Sarah, I wonder how many people know that "Marching Band" has a season??? Too funny and I know you've been a single parent since at least August when band camp started! I'm a former Band Boosters President and my husband has toted a bunch of pit equipment and we loved our band directors! Such unsung heroes. And you're from a crazy marching band state, Indiana. You have my sympathy!
